Age doesn’t always have to be the only reason for your conception problems. Infertility can be caused due to a
variety of reasons, both for men and women. Even younger women may find it difficult to bear the child owing to
the different type of medical problems. While a few women experience discomfort or pain, others may not show any
other symptoms other than not being able to get pregnant.

Here are the three medical conditions that might be affecting your chances of pregnancy:

Endometriosis:

Endometriosis is the condition where the Endometrium, the lining of the Uterus happens to grow outside of Uterus
(near ovaries, fallopian tubes etc.) to develop into adhesions. These adhesions throw a spanner into the normal
functioning of the reproductive system significantly impacting the fertility of the women. It is estimated that
Endometriosis accounts for almost 40% of the cases of unexplained fertility in women.
If a healthy woman has a 20% chance of pregnancy, the same chance drops to as low as 3% in case of a woman with
mild Endometriosis. And 1 in every 10 women is diagnosed with mild Endometriosis, making it a serious cause.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS):

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCAO) is a common endocrine disorder that negatively impacts the conceiving ability in
women of reproductive age. As the name suggests, the ovaries may develop numerous collection of small fluid-filled
sacs (cysts) which hinders the release of egg causing irregular menstruation problems. If a woman’s egg isn’treleased it cannot be fertilized and she cannot get pregnant. Fortunately, PCOS can be successfully treated with the help of diet moderation, medications and fertility treatments.

So if you are experiencing irregular menstruation problems with signs of acne, hair loss (other symptoms of PCOS), it is high time you consult a Fertility specialist.

Thyroid Disorders:

Being a hormonal problem like PCOS, It is often a regular practice to test for thyroid disorders in women with
conception problems. A Thyroid disorder is a condition when there is an imbalance in the production of thyroid
hormones causing the variety of fertility problems including loss of libido, irregular periods, conceiving difficulties,
and pre-term births implantation problems and even loss of pregnancy. Infertility due to Thyroid disorder can be
easily treated by restoring the thyroid hormones to their normal levels with medication.
